Botham

Walking along the promenade the other day, a hardback (signed – wet ink?) copy of Botham – the book – was winking at me from a shelf in a coffee shop. A great spot in more ways than one.

It’s a treat to sit down there with a little time on my hands and read a chapter.

I read the Foreword the other day – a few words from Sir Viv.

Today I read ‘The End of the Road’ – the first chapter.

Tensions with Ted Dexter. To take the half a million and go to SA? Or WI?

How is that final half hour after a career in the spotlight?

More than anything it was a chapter which can resonate. Many of us know Kenny Rogers’ line, “Gotta know when to hold and when to fold”.

We are our own best Doctor.

Looking forward to the next chapter.
